A £12 million 'urban village' development in Camborne, designed to create the kind of environment inspired by Prince Charles' acclaimed Poundbury project, has now been completed.
St Piran Homes have completed 84 one, two and three- bedroom flats and houses at Laity Fields off Dolcoath Road.
Laity Fields, the biggest-ever development by St Piran Homes, features a variety of housing styles arranged around a village green.
Local materials featured prominently in the construction, with design features carrying echoes of the area's proud mining history. In particular, the three-storey properties hint at the outline and style of the old engine houses.
An historic monument - an 80ft stretch of finger embankment which used to support the tramway - has been retained within the development.
To celebrate completion of Phase Three and to thank all the employees and sub-contractors involved, St Piran Homes arranged for a special site delivery of pasties supplied by fellow Cornish company Berryman Bakery in Redruth.
