First homes completed at flagship Camborne project

The first phase of properties in St Piran Homes’ flagship project at Godolphin View, Camborne – hailed as setting new standards in environmental sensitivity - have now been completed.

With prices starting at £360,000 for a 4 bed linked detached property, the £6.5 million project, comprising 14 houses and 18 apartments, has been described as “innovative” by the Commission For Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE).

St Piran Homes managing director Barry Bailey commented:  “There has been very strong early interest in Godolphin View, which has clearly been recognised as a truly exceptional development setting high standards in energy conservation and offering outstanding value for money.”

He said Godolphin View epitomised the core ethos behind St Piran Homes -  environmental sensitivity incorporating sustainable elements wherever possible.

The Camborne properties boast numerous energy-efficient features.  All the homes are specially orientated to take full advantage of the passage of the sun throughout the day.  Their design also means that during the cooler months, when the sun is at a lower angle, the sun’s heat is maximized.

To avoid overheating in the summer months, a “sunspace” roof overhangs each property for shading to the windows.  Velux windows are also a feature of many of the roof lines as these give extra light and warmth when needed and act as vents for excess heat in the summer.

The gas heating and water system works in conjunction with underfloor heating on the ground and first floors, ensuring that heating is delivered throughout the house with optimum efficiency and maximum comfort.

The houses are fitted with heat recovery ventilation systems which supply fresh filtered air that has been warmed in a heat exchanger operating with around 90 per cent heat recovery efficiency.  This reduces internal moisture, dust, pollen and other airborne pollutants.

The Godolphin View homes are insulated with recycled paper and the natural wood walls are designed to actually “breathe”, creating a healthy indoor atmosphere.

The windows and doors are made from a sustainably sourced softwood while the kitchens are in oak or maple with solid wood doors.  The kitchens are fully-fitted with low energy-consuming integrated appliances.

Another big selling point for Godolphin View is that the houses will be very light, airy and exceptionally spacious, reinforcing the exceptionally attractive lifestyle environment.

Godolphin View is situated on the corner of Mount Pleasant Road and Cadogan Road.
