Staff at St Piran Homes have underlined the company’s “Cornishness” by supporting three Cornish charities over the festive period.

First the Christmas cards for distribution to their associates, suppliers and purchasers were bought from Pentyr Publishing.

The St Just-based company, with its cards featuring distinctive Cornish images captured by local photographers and artists, donates part of its proceeds to St Julia’s Hospice, Hayle, and St Petroc’s Society for the Single Homeless, of Truro, Newquay and Bodmin.

Then the St Piran staff also organised a raffle before and during their Christmas dinner at the Glendorgal Hotel in Newquay.  This raised £210 for Spectrum, the Devon and Cornwall Autistic Community Trust.

“It was very much a case of Cornish all the way!” declared managing director Barry Bailey.  “We are a Cornwall based company named after the patron saint of Cornwall and it was very pleasing to be able to reflect our identity by helping Cornish charities in this way.”

Local businesses supplied a large number of prizes for the raffle, with the main winner being Tim Joll, Quantity Surveyor, who collected a large coffee maker.
